Dear Parents/Carers,

What a wonderful week, it’s been at our school. The children have been practicing for their performances and it’s filled the school with festive cheer and joy.

Around the school, the team have been working hard to create displays that showcase the wonder and beauty of Christmas and you will get to see some in our hall areas when you join us for your child’s performance over the forthcoming weeks.

The Pantomime came to school and performed Beauty and the Beast for our children! This was their end of term treat for all of their hard work, respect and kindness they have shown this year. It was heart-warning to see them watch in awe and wonder and some children were even chosen to take part! Don’t forget to ask your child what they enjoyed most about the performance. You will be pleased to hear that the production company commended our children on their behaviour and conduct throughout. It is wonderful when visitors to the school see our children as fondly we do.

On Thursday, the boys football team performed well against Cypress school. It was great to be able to be able to watch and cheer them on! Thank you to all the parents who came to support and Mr Abrahams for coaching the boys. Everyone did a fantastic job and they conducted themselves on the pitch in an exemplary manner. Even though we had most of the possession in the 2nd half, the final score was 1v1.

There is so much budding talent in the team and it was great to see Billy doing a save Mary Earps would be proud of! Well done to all of you!

Before the half term, we recruited a SENDCo for the school. Mr Abubaka was the successful candidate. He has lots of experience in SEND education and provision and is very knowledgeable about adaptations that can be made to enhance progression for all children. He began working at our Federation on Monday and will be working with Mrs Longford Jackson to enhance SEND Provision. I know that you will join us in making him feel welcome.

Just a reminder that next week is Christmas jumper day. Children can wear their own clothes and a Christmas jumper. We will be having Christmas lunch together and children will have parties in the afternoon.

Lastly, Ava Fuller was back in school this week for an afternoon! This was a huge uplift for her classmates and the team! Thank you for all your prayers, please continue to keep her and her family in prayers.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Ashley and the St. Joseph’s Team
