Dear Parents/Carers,

To deepen their understanding of their science topic Earth and Space, the Year 5’s enjoyed an informative trip to Greenwich Observatory this week. They had fun learning new facts about space and astronomy!

Some parents have commented that they are not receiving communication from the school, a reminder that all letters and communication are sent via our App Weduc. If you are experiencing difficulty with the App, please contact the school office and someone will assist you.

To ensure our EYFS provision is the best it possibly can be, a consultant visited our school last week. We are very excited to improve the learning spaces in our Nursery and Reception classes and ensure that they are inclusive and innovative.

Club letters and overview will be shared with parents at 6.15pm this evening. Thanks for your patience with this, we wanted a more inclusive approach to ensure all children had the opportunity to participate.

Year 6 started their swimming lessons this week. They represented the school brilliantly and are developing new skills. Thanks to the adults who helped make this possible.

With sadness and the parents’ permission, I am sharing news with you that one of our wonderful children, Ava in 1E has fallen very unwell, suddenly. As a team we prayed for Ava and her family this morning and her parents have asked that we ask our School Community to do the same. Out of respect for the family, please do not contact them, but if you wanted to send a card or well wishes we are setting up a book at the office and you can bring a card to the office too which we will pass on. The children in her class will be making her cards as well. Moments like these remind us of how special it is to belong to a faith Community. Together we will be praying for Ava’s speedy recovery and for Ava to be back in school learning they way she loves too.

May you and your family rest and enjoy each other’s company this weekend,

Mrs Ashley and the St. Joseph’s Team
