22nd March

Dear Parents/Carers,

It’s has been a wonderful week at St. Josephs filled with reflection and care. On Tuesday, we celebrated St. Joseph’s Day with Mass. This feast day was in honour of St. Joseph, the husband of Mary and stepfather of Jesus. Did you know that Joseph has two feast days? Please click the link if you would like to read more about our patron saint.

In order to draw closer to God during this special time of Lent, children across the school attended Mass at Virgo Fedelis. Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us throughout the week and to Father James for making the Masses personal and thought-provoking. I found Friday’s mass extremely uplifting and the children’s behaviour demonstrated reverence. Thank you to Mrs Phillips for organising.

It was great to see so many of you at Parents Evening! The teachers have been working hard to ensure that every child progresses from their starting point and I am sure you’d agree that since September the progress for your child is evident both socially and academically. The children were excited for you to see their hard work and their classroom environment which we have been working on too. Thank you all for the support you give, it really does make a difference.

The sensational results from our CSI RE Inspection have now been published and I sent a letter to you all with our results. Since September there is new inspection framework  which is more robust and the process very rigorous. We are delighted that we were able to secure a 1 (outstanding) in 5 out of 6 areas across our schools and therefore gain and Outstanding judgment in the Infant School and a Good in the Junior school. The full reports are on our website, in key information. A huge well done and thank you to all the team, governors, parents, priests and members of our school community. We are immensely proud of what we have managed to achieve together.

A reminder that school closes on Thursday 28th March at 2pm for two weeks.

We hope you and your families have a wonderful weekend.

Mrs Ashley and The St. Joseph’s Team
