Dear Parents/Carers, Our new newsletter can be found here. We hope you find that you have a better understanding of…
Dear Parents/Carers,
On Tuesday the school choir represented us wonderfully at the O2 Young Voices Concert. It was great to hear how uplifting the event was and even though it was a long day it was a memorable occasion for all. Thanks to Miss Arthur for organising and Ms Luri for helping.
Clubs started this week and it is a blessing to have such a range of clubs on offer for our children to enjoy and develop different skills. Thanks to all the team members who are giving up their time to make this happen.
Well done to Mrs Mapp-Nwosu, Mrs Longford-Jackson and MS Kelleher who successfully completed Rainbows Bereavement Support Training this week! Given recent events in our school community, we thought that it was important to be able to offer specialised support to our children who need it within schools. This along with our ELSA support will enhance our ability to meet the emotional needs of our children. Please let us know if you think your child would benefit from emotional support and we can arrange a meeting to discuss.
The PTA and I had a productive meeting this week. We thought about ways to move our PTA forwards and of events we could do this year. Information to follow.
You should have received your child’s curriculum newsletter. Theses are also on Google Classroom. If you have any issues let your child’s teacher know in the first instance.
It is important that your child is in school every day. Research proves that this positively impacts the achievement of your child and therefore their future prospects. Holidays should booked for school holidays. Requests for holidays in term time will not be authorised and could lead to a fine. This is something that we don’t want to do and we know that some of our families are under financial strain. Therefore please support us in upholding our obligations by booking holidays outside of school time.
Many parents have been giving us great feedback on how we can improve the schools. Some really constructive feedback has been received and enabled us to refine our practices. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
A few parents have mentioned that they have tried to make contact with me via email. Please do this via the school’s office email so that I can respond quickly and your message doesn’t get missed. The fastest way to get support/advice is via your child’s teacher or the school office.
I hope you and your families have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Ashley and the St. Joseph’s Team
