Mini Frog Pond

Juniors have installed a new mini-pond behind our junior vegetable garden, complete with oxygenating plants, raised stones for frogs to climb in and out of as well as plenty of fresh rainwater.

The area was previously home to a much larger pond, which was replaced by raised beds last summer, so we felt it was important to provide a new home to any frogs who were returning home to breed.

We have been reliably informed that the pond has frogspawn (eggs) now, which means that in a few weeks time we should have tadpoles and in time, this year’s generation of frogs.

Exciting!
