The children have been amazing this week and displayed respect, resilience and determination with their learning, sporting activities and so many aspects of school life.

Thank you children, I’m proud of you and the example you set to all of us.

Mrs Gallagher and our pupil leaders led a beautiful reflective assembly on Thursday, 11th November to commemorate Remembrance Day. Class 2O made everyone proud in their first-class assembly which was well attended by parents and friends. Mr Abraham and Mrs Power were understandably very proud of their class and the important messages they delivered.

Class 3T’s assembly was amazing today and focused on famous scientists and their contributions to the world. The children spoke with confidence and shared interesting information. Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended.

A number of staff and I accompanied our KS2 cross country team to a championship at John Fisher playing fields in Purley. The children were outstanding not only in their team work, the support they offered each other but in their behaviour. They represented St Joseph’s with pride and received many positive comments from other Headteachers. My thanks to Mrs Mangan for training them, and to Mr Defty, Mr Navarro, Mrs Parry, Mrs Luri and Mrs Odewale for accompanying them. Thank you to all the parents and friends who came to support us, it made a big difference you cheering the team on. I would like to say a big thank you to all the children in the cross-country team, you are just incredible and showed resilience and fantastic sportsmanship. I am so proud of you. We may not have won, but to me you are all winners. I look forward to seeing St Joseph’s continuing to go from strength to strength.
