Zara Long Swim School at St Joseph’s College
We are pleased to announce a partnership with former Team GB Olympian Zara Long, who runs Take The Plunge, an independent swim school based at St Joseph’s College SE19 3HL.
They have been able to extend their pool time and are now able to offer a new swim lesson time to the local community at a reduced price with an offering to the PTA of our school.
Their new lesson time is 6:10 p.m. on Tuesdays, although they have a availability for those that can already swim at some other times (see below).
At 6.10pm they have availability in ALL the following levels;

| Beginner 1 | Our beginner lessons are for those just starting out and are unable to swim independently |
| Beginner 2 | The second level beginner class is for swimmer who are managing a few metres without any aid |
| Improver 1 | Improver 1 swimmers are swimming across the width and are happy to swim on their front and back |
| Improver 2 | Breaststroke and diving is introduced here and the swimmers are out of their depth |
| Improver 3 | Mastery of front and back stroke, continuous work on breaststroke and the introduction of butterfly |
| Intermediate | The intermediate class teacher is on the poolside and the swimmers are focussing on the finer technical details of all strokes |
All their teachers are in the water with the swimmers up until the intermediate level and they have a ratio of 6 swimmers to 1 teacher. Lessons are 30mins.
They do have a lengths session that runs on a Monday and Tuesday at 6:10 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. , respectively, and there is some space in both of those. This is for the more advanced swimmer and is pre-club level.
In addition, they have availability as follows:

Zara would love to fill our spaces with young people from the local community with a reduced cost for the first term of £95 as opposed to the regular price of £115.
As a little thank you to the school, we will give the PTA £10 per family that joins us. Places will be offered on a first come first serve basis and Take the Plunge reserves all rights.
