Charitable Foundation

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”

2 Corinthians 9:6

St Joseph’s Federation Foundation (the “Foundation”) was created primarily to support the provision of education by The Federation of St Joseph’s Junior, Infant and Nursery Schools (the “School”) and the maintenance of the education facilities used by the School.

Over the years the School has been blessed by generous donations of alumni, parents and our community recognising the impact of rising costs and reduced Government funding for schools, and believing that our pupils deserve every opportunity to achieve their full potential.

In 2021, we formalised this process so that all donations would be received and managed by the Foundation, which is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), separate from the School and regulated by the Charities Commission.

The Foundation is bound to follow the rules set out in its Articles of Incorporation and Grant Making Policy. It also has a Board of Trustees who are majority independent of the School.

As a charity, the Foundation can claim Gift Aid on any donations it receives, which increases its ability to support the School by 25%.

The trustees of the Foundation (all appointed for four-year terms commencing 29 June 2021) are:

  • Mrs M Bailey (Chair of Governors, St Joseph’s Federation)
  • Mrs M Curran (Lecturer in Photography, MA)
  • Mr A Das (Energy Consultant, MBA, M.S.)

The Foundation’s registered address is St Joseph’s RC Junior School, Woodend, SE19 3NU and its registered charity number is 1194987.

Donate to the Foundation

Please consider donating to the Foundation as a way of supporting St Joseph’s. If you are a UK taxpayer, you can boost your donation by 25% by electronically signing the Gift Aid declaration form below.

Parent contributions to the Foundation are voluntary; we hope that families will feel able to contribute as much as they can. A contribution of just £40 a year, for instance, will make a significant impact in supporting our aims. If families are in a position to make a larger donation, we would welcome this.

If you are alumni of St Joseph’s, please consider a donation to the Foundation to help your school in these challenging and uncertain times.
