Sainsburys School Games Gold Award

Congratulations St. Joseph’s!

Well done to Mrs Mangan and all those involved in St. Joseph’s application for the Sainsburys School Games GOLD Award. We were awarded this just before the end of the Summer Term and we are all very proud to be the first school in Croydon to achieve Gold! The children have been a big part of this process with many of them being recognised as our young leaders. Mrs Mangan worked tirelessly to gather all the many pieces of evidence needed and we were externally verified during the process.

Another great team effort well done everyone.

The sessions are organised in line with the School Games Competition Calendar. They are arranged so that maximum practise is available to all pupils in preparation for the School Games competition to ensure that the best School Team is put forward – not all children are able to attend OSHL.

NB. To maximise effectiveness of curriculum map flexibility is desirable.   SHA & Gym – indoor sessions.   Netball/Hockey/Tennis etc. are preferable outside.

Sports Club Links

Many of our children belong to clubs outside of school hours during the week and at weekends. We encourage our children to take part in such activities to make new friends and to develop as individuals within a different environment. Mixing with children of varying ages enables our children to learn skills they may not encounter within school while discovering a talent they never knew they had.

If you would like to know more, why not try the links below, you never know, your child could be the new David Beckham or Jessica Ennis-Hill.
