How to help children in Darfur during lockdown!
We are excited to announce that our Patron, Joanna Lumley OBE, is challenging children to join the Kids for Kids’ competition to draw a Goat for Darfur during lockdown. Joanna Lumley has drawn the first goat (see image above) – now it is your turn to get involved! The competition is open to children aged 12 and under in three age groups: A) 6 and under, B) 7 – 9, C) 10 – 12. The prizes are gorgeous cuddly little goat toys (see image) – they will be your new friends!
First Prize: A Family of Three cuddly Goats (See image above);
Second Prize: Cuddly Mummy Goat;
Third Prize: Cuddly Baby Kid Goat
The competition is free to enter and the deadline for entries is Friday 29th May 2020. Everyone will be a winner because every piece of artwork will be posted on the Kids for Kids’ Drawn…to Darfur webpage! See an example piece of artwork above.
Why Goats? Because goat milk builds up children’s strength in Darfur to withstand the COVID-19 virus. Malnutrition is a real threat, and if the virus takes grip in Darfur many children will be affected. To learn all about our Goats, click here. Kids for Kids lends five goats to families in a village and after two years when the small flock has grown, five goats are passed on to help another family in the village. The best investment ever.
