Book Week (Feb 2020) – The Tin Forest (Infants)

Dave NavarroReception, Year 1, Year 2

As part of our book week celebrations, the children of St Joseph’s read the story of the Tin Forest by Helen Ward and Wayne Anderson.

It is a tale of transformation and involves an old man who lives in a grey and forsaken place ‘that looked out on other people’s rubbish and bad weather’. He dreams of a wild and colourful place and uses the resources around him in such a creative way that change comes about and a natural forest becomes entwined with one of metal.

Inspired by this book, our children transformed their own pieces of junk to create their own beautiful forest
